Job Title: Patient Care Assistant
Job Type: On-call basis
Salary: $18 - $20 per hour
Job Description: Priority Cares Home Services is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Patient Care Companion to provide specialized care and support to Patients during the overnight shift. In this role, you will play a vital part in enhancing the quality of life and well-being of our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
● Companionship: Be a friendly and supportive presence for the patient throughout the night. Engage in conversations, offer emotional support, and ensure their comfort.
● Assistance with Daily Living: Assist the patient with daily living activities such as getting in and out of bed, using the restroom, and any other tasks they may require help with
Medication Reminder: If needed, remind the patient to take their medications as prescribed.
● Monitor Safety: Ensure the patient's safety during the night, help prevent accidents, and promptly respond to any emergency situations.
● Meal Assistance: If required, assist with meal preparation and feeding, considering any dietary restrictions or preferences.
● Maintain Cleanliness: Keep the patient's living space clean and organized.
● Communication: Communicate with hospital staff and the patient's healthcare team to ensure the patient's care plan is followed.
Qualifications:
● Previous experience in patient care or similar roles is preferred.
● Compassion and patience in providing care to individuals with special needs.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
● Reliable and punctual, given the overnight shift schedule
. ● Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect the patient's privacy.
